lyrics
Show me the way out
these times are dark and getting darker
And what's gonna be the spark,
that changes, that lights up you and me?
Barely surviving ain't how I wanna live
I wanna give to you baby, oh yes I do
But sometimes I don't feel brave
wasted, throwing dreams into the rain
And the phone rings it is my darlin'
He's telling me he don't know when he's gonna be home
Me, I'm still playing life like a gambler
I'm rolling with the joys and pains of my turn
What are you gonna deal me?
You don't always get to choose
Can you feel me?
I've got nothing left to lose
How can tell where we're bound?
We're walking the road lost and trying to be found
I can't say what it's all about
but if it don't feel right then change your route
Oh, this country soul... I can't help myself!
Let me do what I gotta do!
Oh, this wildfire heart is burning fast..
and I've got nothing left to lose
What are you gonna deal me?
You don't always get to choose
Can you feel me?
I've got nothing left to lose

If Suzanne Vega started this decade she might have sounded like this, good acoustic guitar song observations with a novelistic eye, and a support band that embellishes but never overpowers the music. Found this artist only this year thanks to a Milk Records compilation, which proves they work. Favourite track: "How Much", simply superb, but also check "Sparklers" and "Kore Waits in the Underworld". agutterfan
